I love winter for many reasons – skiing, football playoffs, crisp mornings, and of course, hot toddies. But I hate how chapped my lips get, even when I am diligent with constant lip balm application. Lips, just like the rest of your skin, require occasional exfoliation. As a huge fan of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, I’ve been eyeing their equally popular Fresh Sugar Lip Polish for a while. Sephora even almost tricked me into another purchase just so I could get a free sample of it. But I resisted (working on my discipline in 2013), so I decided I should just try to make it myself. And guess what – it’s insanely easy, and you probably already have all the products you need in your kitchen.
My favorite thing to spend money on is makeup. Well, right behind skiing and concerts. I was frugal for the first half of the year, but after the launch of a beauty blog, I decided to indulge myself in a few (ok, much more than a few) packages in the mail. Here’s the best of my haul (not in any order, because how can you choose between children?).
My hair has been gradually getting wavier, which is awesome, but one annoying downside is the corresponding frizz. This weekend I had a very lazy Saturday – I woke up at 9 but stayed in bed til noon, realized that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia was finally added to Netflix, and lost any chance of productivity. Lazy days like that are perfect for trying out new beauty remedies.
